Brooke Boney calls Melissa McCarthy a 'wuss' for her extreme reaction to spider bite
Today’s entertainment reporter Brooke Boney has taken a playful dig at Melissa McCarthy over her viral Instagram video about being bitten by a spider.
The American actress, 50, made headlines on Wednesday after she uploaded clip of herself covered in bandages as she ‘recovered’ from a huntsman spider bite.
However, Brooke showed little sympathy for the Bridesmaids star while discussing the footage on Thursday.

‘I didn’t even know huntsman can bite you,’ the 34-year-old journalist said, looking rather unimpressed.
‘They don’t, they’re fine,’ host Allison Langdon agreed.
To the amusement of Allison and her co-anchor Karl Stefanovic, Brooke suddenly exclaimed: ‘She’s a wuss!’

Karl then joked: ‘She was obviously bitten by a stagehand or something! They’re much more venomous.’
Huntsman spiders are not considered to be dangerous to humans and are primarily non-aggressive in nature, despite their large size.
On the rare occasion that a human is bitten by a huntsman, the bite may cause non-lethal effects such as localised pain, swelling and nausea.

On Wednesday, Melissa shared a tongue-in-cheek video to Instagram of herself lying in bed with bandages on both hands and a towel on her head.
‘I love that all the bugs and creatures will kill you,’ she said.
‘After professing my love of Australian critters to InStyle magazine, I was quickly reminded by someone that I was conveniently forgetting the aftermath of some of those ‘magical’ bites,’ Melissa wrote.
The comedian has been in Australia since last year filming the upcoming TV series Nine Perfect Strangers, which is based on the 2018 novel of the same name by Big Little Lies author Liane Moriarty.
